Where We Are Going in 2019 – Johnston’s Creek, Banff National Park

Our Future Ride Locations

The TRCR has a unique style of camp that no other group or outfitter in Western Canada has. We set up our camp in July with volunteers and tear it down in August, never leaving a trace. Other outfitters either need to have a moving camp every night or they are granted semi-permanent camp areas. There are down sides to both. Either you spend much more time moving your camp and less on the trail or you are limited to the same area year after year. Not with the TRCR! Our base camp location and riding area changes every year and will provide you with an amazing experience that you will never get anywhere else, as we go to a new area of the Rockies each summer.

Ride Locations: All rides with be in Banff National Park. The staging ground will be the Town of Banff for 2019, 2020 and 2023, and the Town of Sundre for 2021 and 2022.

2019 – Johnston’s Creek

We will be returning to one of our clubs most favourite areas having not ridden there since 2009. After a short bus ride from the Town of Banff, we will ride into the Ink Pots and tour this incredible natural phenomenon – seven cold mineral coloured springs bubbling to the surface in the open meadows beside Johnston Creek. Another couple of hours down the trail and we will stop for a picnic lunch and then ride into our base camp. The four daily rides are as follows: Badger Pass, Pulsatilla Pass, Luellen Lake, and Quinlan Lake. The Johnson’s Creek valley has incredible rugged scenery; this is truly a wilderness experience in our majestic Canadian Rocky Mountains. Enjoy the slideshow!
